The year in the capital of the Périgord Noir is punctuated by numerous festive events, where locals and tourists come together to share warm and convivial moments. Several festivals are unmissable events in the region. They celebrate cinema, truffles, or books. Book your room at our charming hotel in the heart of Sarlat, the Hôtel Le Renoir, to be able to attend all these events.

Every year in November Film Festival

The Sarlat Film Festival is a must-see event in the region.

This film festival has been running since 1991. One of its unique features is that high school seniors specializing in literature and film are invited to meet professionals such as directors, screenwriters, actors, and many others, and also to award a prize.

Numerous prizes are awarded at this festival, including the "Golden Salamander," the "High School Students' Prize," and the "Short Film Prize."

The magic of Christmas Christmas Market

The capital of the Périgord Noir region is illuminated every year throughout the month of December.

The Sarlat Christmas market is held in the city center. More than 70 chalets are present, offering handcrafted goods, regional wines, jewelry, clothing, decorations, mulled wine, local beers, and numerous culinary specialties.

Stay in our boutique hotel in the heart of Sarlat for the holiday season and enjoy the Christmas market.

The unmissable event Truffle Festival

From mid-January, the truffle takes center stage, much to the delight of our eyes and taste buds. Tastings, cooking and wine classes, creative workshops for children, culinary courses led by a chef, appearances by renowned chefs, activities for the whole family, and demonstrations will all be on the program during this weekend dedicated to the Black Gold of Périgord.

Discover the truffle, learn how to identify it, and how to buy it.

The first weekend of March Fest'Oie

In a spirit of good cheer, conviviality, and sharing, Sarlat celebrates the Périgord Goose.

During this weekend, you can participate in activities with goose trainers, discover calligraphy with a quill pen, watch a goose carving demonstration, and taste goose carcass soup.

Locals invite you to share a grand festive meal in the Place de la Liberté, a meal that will delight the whole family.

Culinary specialties Gastronomy Weekend

For the Taste and Gastronomy Days, the fourth weekend of September, gastronomy will be celebrated in a friendly and gourmet atmosphere.

On the program for this gastronomy weekend in Sarlat: a market with local producers, a goat cheese making workshop, a gourmet hike, and a festive outdoor meal.

An opportunity to savor local specialties: grilled lamb with Sarlat-style potatoes, Périgord walnut cake, or tomato soup (tourin).
